Oh goodness! I am loving the way this session came together! I’ve been wanting to do a seasonal cake smash session forever and these guys made it happen! This handsome little hunk turns the big ONE next week! We met up for their one year cake smash session this week and I am loving it! Plus, he was so fun to watch. I’ve known Jordan and Nicole for many many years. Nicole’s Brother is my brother-in-law. These two are pretty special people. They were my first wedding clients, years ago. I’m so happy they trusted me to jump into wedding photography and capture their Salt Lake Temple wedding. I look back and see how far I’ve come and I so appreciate all those who have supported me along the way.
Their little guy was born a year ago. We took his newborn photos in my studio and he was such an adorable baby. I loved the woodland theme mom did for some of his photos! Fast forward a year… like for real, time has flown by! He is still adorable just with more personality. I’ve seen him a few times over the year at family get togethers but this week was so much better! He was so fun to watch smash his cake. He flung frosting across the studio but still didn’t dig in quite like we thought he would.
The set up was awesome and came together perfectly! I wanted a Fall or Halloween theme and decided to do a fall theme. I gave a few cues to Temptation Cupcake and they created this adorable little cake. It was perfect for us. Mom and Dad brought those adorable suspenders from Old Navy. I just love the pumpkins, pops, banner and the crate. They went so well with that backdrop which I am in love with. I’ve had it for a few months but just recently used it for the first time. It is the perfect rustic brown!

In Studio First Year Packages are the best but we love outdoor sessions too!! Much as we try to use the studio, outdoor sessions can be super awesome as well! Watch your little one grow during their first year and let us help. Because this package is perfect for that! Sessions at 6, 9 and 12 months make for the best first year memories ever. I adore getting to see all my clients during these ages. Therefore, these ages are just the best! Cake Smash sessions at their 1 year appointments are usually my favorite!
