This little girl is the big #1! Mom and I were talking about how fast this year has went by. One year already? Yup, it’s for real. I am just blown away at how fast time has gone by every time I take photos of my newborn clients for their one year session. This little lady was no different! We took her one year session outside since mom and I decided to switch things up this time. While she’s been a little unhappy in the studio for her 6 and 9 month sessions she has still been a joy to photography. However, we thought we’d try outside to see if that made a change. And guess what? It sure did. We aren’t sure if it was the studio and been cooped up in one location, the flash or what but being outside sure brought some smiles out from this little lady!
We met at Denzil Stewart Nature Park in Logan. That place is a hidden GEM! We sure love it! Because it’s close by and always a pretty good spot for photos. I picked up the cake from Temptation Cupcake and headed to meet the Nelson’s at the park. I brought my adorable little rocking chair with me since it’s usually a success for one year olds. We started out with a couple of poses just being cute. And look at that! SMILES! Oh my goodness. We were thrilled to get some smiles of of Ashley! Finally, she was a happy little lady! Probably due to being outside but at this point we are just so so happy! As a result, we got some GOLDEN photos for her 1 year session!
Next up was the cake. I just love working with Temptation Cupcake. They ROCK IT! I asked them for a pink, white and gold cake and they delivered with flying colors. No design or specifics were given and I just LOVE the cake they made. She wasn’t quite sure what the cake was for and only tried a little but she was still an adorable little cake smasher – the little that she did. Mom and her got to take her pretty cake home and enjoy it there. I still love the photos we got though! ADORABLE!

In Studio First Year Packages are the best but we love outdoor sessions too!! Much as we try to use the studio, outdoor sessions can be super awesome as well! Watch your little one grow during their first year and let us help. Because this package is perfect for that! Sessions at 6, 9 and 12 months make for the best first year memories ever. I adore getting to see all my clients during these ages. Therefore, these ages are just the best! Cake Smash sessions at their 1 year appointments are usually my favorite!
