My sister and I took the kids on a quick and kinda last minute trip to St George in June. Her mother in law owns a time share so we got to stay there for 4 days. It was nice. Not as hot as I expected all week to be. We had one day of overcast and it was only in the 80’s. We did some fun stuff and the kids did pretty good! St George Vacation Weekend
Here’s our list of highlights and stuff we did!
- Glitter Mountain – Super Cool area! It was about a 30-45 minute drive from where we stayed and was really neat! It was SOOO hot the day we went so we didn’t stay too long but we all liked it. It’s not really a Mountain but more like a bigger mound of dirt that is covered in pieces of gypsum that glitters when the sun is shining. I’ve linked to a site you can read up more on that one! It’s not really a hike. You can just park and then walk around. I would recommend going if you haven’t before!
- Dinosaur park – the kids loved the water area. It’s actually called Thunder Junction All Abilities Park and was super cool. It was a really neat park filled with all sorts of stuff around dinosaurs and it was FREE. There was an awesome splash pad area, typical park with swings, slides, etc and more. It was clean, busy but amazing. I would recommend this if you are in the area!
- Pioneer Park – We headed to Pioneer Park one day to do some walking / hiking. Shayna had been there before so she lead the way. We found this little slot canyon area that was shaded and the temperature was much less than outside in the sun so we hung
- Swig – We literally went to swig twice in a day, but only once. Oops. But at least we got the kids all a swig drink too. #Parentwinning (See photo of all 6 of us with our Swigs).
- Swimming at the pool every single day. We stayed at Coral Springs Resort. It was a nice condo area and the pool was good! The kids loved it. Kira would go off and do her own thing most of the time. Now that she’s older she’s less and less likely to want to hang out with parents and the younger kids. #growingup Collin did really good to play with Kip and play on his own/with Kira. Oakley and Kip were water babies. Kip loved being in the water but not in the deep areas. he would throw the water dive toys in the water All The Time. We had to keep on top of the toys or loose some.
- Watching Movies at the condo. The kids had to take turns picking a movie since they all wanted to watch something different. Of course they can’t agree on movies.
- A long drive with all the kids on tablets / phones / electronics but it kept them happy the entire drive. My rule is you have to go 1-2 hours without electronics before you can play on them so they aren’t on them the entire drive. It worked well and no one got car sick!
- Listening to Audio books
- Staying on Keto while on Vacation was a win!
