So why Photography?
To be honest and completely open here I started into photography when I got divorced about 9 years ago. I have always loved taking pictures. I took photography classes in high school and I’ve always had a camera since I was old enough to actually take care of one. After my divorce I was looking for something I could put my heart into and fill my time with. A friend at work loaned me her Nikon D90 and I fell in love with the thought of being a photographer. I took photos of my sisters and their kids, friends kids, friends of my families and more.
About a year later my best friend and now husband encouraged me to purchase my own DSLR. It was the day after Thanksgiving and we were headed to Hawaii the following morning. We decided to go to Inkley’s in Logan and look at cameras. We’d been in there multiple times but I was undecided. Andy gave me the support and confidence to make that purchase and has been my biggest supporter ever since. He’s my rock and I owe so much of my success to him.
I started out with Families, weddings, newborns, kids, seniors, etc. I look back at my photos and can’t believe how far I’ve come. But what’s more, I am amazed and humbled at all those clients that have supported me from the start. I wasn’t very good and I was still learning but I was passionate, driven and aimed to get better.
Fast forward to 2018
and I have come so far! After online classes, in person workshops, YouTube videos, tutorials, group training’s and more, I think I’ve narrowed down the niche that I want to photograph – Newborns and kids. That’s where my heart lies. Don’t get me wrong, Family Photography is and always will be one of the top sessions I will do but newborns and cake smashes are my favorite!
If you know me or have asked about my life, you know I work a full time job in addition to my photography business. Some people think I’m crazy but I love it. I have always been a keep busy type of person and both businesses fit my life. Add in our recent newborn and I’m not sure how I’ll juggle it all but Andy and I are figuring it out. I love my job and the people at Hycomp and I LOVE photography. Right now, I need them both.
I also thrive for adventure. My hubby and I love jeeping, boating, camping, traveling, talking business and more. He’s my rock and my partner in crime. Andy keeps me up when I need someone to lean on. He’s the father of my child and my best friend. I can’t imagine living this life with anyone else.

We have a full list of props and backdrops that we can travel with or you can come to us and have access to them all! There is an additional travel charge for in home sessions. In Home Sessions are also limited on Qty of props/backdrops we bring. Book your studio session to take full advantage of the props and supplies we have! Or go for the lifestyle look and we’ll come to you! Either way, we would LOVE to capture your newborn baby’s first professional photos.
