Newborn photography is a passion of mine. Same with Cake Smash Sessions. I just love capturing those first moments for parents with their newborns and into their first year! Two completely different types of sessions and everything in between. I am focusing really hard on improving my newborn work flow, posing, props, fabrics, backdrops, and more. Furthermore, my Cake Smash Sessions are also on the top of my priority list! I want every session to be special, unique and fun. That’s why I decided to attend the Creative Captures Photography Workshop by the Amazing Caralee Case and Jennifer Nace. This workshop gave me so many little tips, tricks and ideas to help me become a better Utah Newborn Photographer.
The Creative Captures Photography Workshop was held just outside of Minneapolis Minnesota at Jennifer Nace’s Studio. Ah-mazing. I am in awe of how much stuff she has. I saw pictures of Caralee’s prop stash as well and I’m totally jealous! Both of these ladies are perfectionist and their photography is to die for!
I can’t even count on one hand how many things I learned and want to try out! So so much good education and knowledge from these two ladies as well as the other 12 photographers there. That’s right, there were 13 photographers including me. We got to watch them pose 5 newborns! Two boys and three girls. We also did a couple of “sitters” which are 6 month old kids. The Cake Smash session was super fun! Furthermore, we got to ask questions! I couldn’t believe how open and sincere these two photographers were at helping their students understand, learn and thrive.
I met some super fun ladies there too. We span all across the United States, One from Costa Rica and one from Japan. I am so happy to follow their photography journey’s and watch them grow. Plus, we all help each other out too!
I am so excited to take what I learned and apply it in my sessions. It will DEFINITELY take time. And I need to learn PHOTOSHOP, like fast. 🙂

Studio Sessions are some of our FAVORITE! In our Studio, we control the lights, props, backdrops and even the temperature to an extent but we also offer in home newborn sessions! We have a full list of props and backdrops that we can travel with or you can come to us and have access to them all! There is an additional travel charge for in home sessions.
