Eeek! Today is Kip’s first birthday! I just can’t believe it! Time FLEW by! Kip has sure been growing up so dang fast! He nailed his cake smash session and was so much fun to watch. He wasn’t too sure about the photos BEFORE cake but he had fun with the cake! Hansen Logan Utah Cake Smash Photographer

Being the photog mom that I am I have tried to take pictures of Kip often. Life has been so busy I missed more than I’d like to admit. Though, I have SOOO many photos on my cell phone so I didn’t miss him really. I choose about 4 outfits for him and when it came right down to it we were lucky to get 2 of those. Moms, I feel you! Prepping for a photo session is stressful and some hard work. Plus, your kids have minds of their own. I was happy with whatever I got though!

I had been planning the cake smash portion for a month or more. Andy likely thinks I’d been planning for a year but that’s not true. I wanted to do something unique that we hadn’t done before and that is something that fits with our lives. I choose a beach/surfing theme and loved how it turned out!

Cake Topper was custom ordered from ArtisticAnyaDesigns on Etsy. I love how it turned out! Cake is from Temptation Cupcake! The surf board (the real one, is ours). The background was new and is sooo cute!

Kip loved to use the sand toys to play in the cake. He has this new thing about squinting his eyes and he often leans or “leaps” towards you as seen in one of these photos.

In Studio First Year Packages are the best but we love outdoor sessions too!! Much as we try to use the studio, outdoor sessions can be super awesome as well! Watch your little one grow during their first year and let us help. Because this package is perfect for that! Sessions at 6, 9 and 12 months make for the best first year memories ever. I adore getting to see all my clients during these ages. Therefore, these ages are just the best! Cake Smash sessions at their 1 year appointments are usually my favorite!
