Riveria Maya, Mexico | Vacation Updates

Whew, we made it back and survived our Vacation! Andy and I took 8 days and left the kids, work, and cold weather and headed to sunny Riveria Maya, Mexico! If you’ve never been or aren’t sure where that is located it’s about an hour outside of Cancun. We had so much fun! Here’s a quick recap and some photos of our trip! Riveria Maya, Mexico | Vacation Updates

We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel Riveria Maya. A beautiful resort! Plus, we totally dig the all inclusive! We stayed all the adults only side called Heaven (family side is called Hacienda). The pools were great, food was great, room was great, literally we have no complaints!

Weekly Recap:

Sunday we hung out at the hotel and relaxed- layed out, went to the beach, etc.

Monday we went to a meeting for our Time Share, then headed into Playadel Carmen to meet up with some friends who were also vacationing. We did a little shopping and ate at Senior Frogs. Yum.

Tuesday we went on a tour of the Ruins. Tulum, Chichenitza Ruins, and then to a Cenote to swim. It was super hot and sunny but we had a great time walking around the ruins with Brian, Kelli and their friends. The Cenote was my favorite! (Cenote: A natural pit or sinkhole resulting from the collapse of limestone bedrock that exposes an underground river underneath. Mostly in the Tucatan Peninsula of Mexico).

Wednesday we went to the spa that morning. Hydro Therapy treatment and then a couples massage. Very relaxing and good. Then we had a cabana on the ocean to hang out in. Off to the pool for a bit and dinner.

Thursday we met up with Brian and Kelli again at Xel Ha. This is a commercial aquatic themepark that was so much fun! It’s a natural aquarium and water park area! We got to snorkel, float a lazy river, go down slides, swim, and more. It was a great place and I highly recommend!

Friday we went Ziplining, repelling and swam in another Cenote. This Cenote was totally different! I didn’t have my phone or the gopro so no photos but it was awesome! If we went to Cancun/Riveria Maya again we’d definitely do a dedicated Cenote tour. We had talked about doing that tour only but never got it booked so we did this 3 combo one. The 3 was fun but the Cenote was way better than Ziplining. (Don’t get me wrong, we love adventure). We heard the Xenote Tour with  Xcaret was awesome so that’s what we’ll be doing next time we go! That was our highlight on those excursions! Later that day we hung out at our pool and went to the French Restaurant. It was so good!

Saturday was travel day! We left the hotel by 10:20 (820 Utah Time) and got home to see our baby boy by about 730 PM. It was such a great trip and so good to spend time with my hubby. We missed the kids but so worth it!

Photos are in no particular order 🙂
