Engagement sessions are some of my favorite! I love watching a couple interact and see their love radiate. That’s exactly what happened with these two love birds at their Engagement session!
I’ve known Alix for years and was so excited to capture her Engagement photos. I can’t even begin to try to nail down exactly how long but it’s been at least 12-13 years, and there’s a great possibility that we’ve known each other longer than 15. We met at Rhythm Connection Dance Studio where we both danced. I also taught. Teaching there was one of my greatest joys because of girls like Alix. We created this amazing bond and she’s one of the most amazing ladies I know. I remember very distinctively a trip we took to Vegas for a dance competition. We laughed and laughed until my stomach hurt. The 4 girls had a ‘song’ for that trip. It’s one of those girls trips I’ll never forget!
Alix is an amazing person so far beyond dance. She’s been through some amazing trials in her life, including Cancer. She and Paul actually met just a few days before she went in for surgery to remove her Cancer. They both worked at Lee’s Marketplace in Logan. He was there by her side when she needed him. Their love was strong through a 6 month long-distance relationship while Alix went to Australia. He went to visit her while she was there, so romantic.
Fast forward to today. They got engaged while carving pumpkins in October. Paul picked out her ring, and boy he did a GREAT job! It’s absolutely stunning.
We met up for their winter engagement session at the State Capitol Building in Salt Lake City. The weekend worked out perfectly, except for some rain. Andy and I head to Salt Lake very year for a weekend get-a-way retreat and to do some Christmas Shopping. I am so happy we got to meet up with Alix and Paul for their session while we were down there. Plus, I always love when Andy comes to help me!
Though rain is not ideal, it does help make beautiful pictures. We met inside the Capitol at the stairs and were greeted by SOOO many other photographers and their clients! I was shocked. The last time I had a session at the Capitol we were the only ones there. This time was much different and we had to wait for space and fight off spectators in the background. Even with all of that, I am dying over their photos. I love that we captured this special time right before the holidays and the two of them seriously radiate love.
I love Alix’s hair and make up! Her good friend Tawny from @bella_louhair dolled her up. Such beautiful hair and I am loving her makeup! I totally recommend Tawny if you are in the Sale Lake area! I also I love their black attire with the marble in the background. Alix’s gorgeous dress is from Bohme. Such a great combination!
They are getting married in September 2017. I can’t wait for another fun summer engagement session and more of their wedding events. A backyard wedding sure to be amazing, just like the two of them.
