Hansen “Camping” Trip 2024 Park City Utah
Annual Hansen “Camping” Trip 2024: Park City Adventures
Every year, we eagerly anticipate our Hansen family “camping” trip, a tradition that has become the highlight of our summer. This year, we traded our tents for the comfort of a cozy cabin in Park City, Utah. As always, it was an incredible week filled with laughter, adventure, and cherished memories. Here’s a recap of our 2024 trip:
Homestead Crater
One of the standout moments of our trip was visiting the Homestead Crater. This geothermal spring, with its consistently warm 96-degree water, offered the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. Swimming in this unique location, surrounded by natural rock formations, was an unforgettable experience.
Ice Cream at Java Cow Coffee & Ice Cream
No trip to Park City is complete without a stop at Java Cow Coffee & Ice Cream. Downtown Park City has a charming ambiance, and indulging in delicious ice cream was a sweet treat for everyone. The kids especially loved picking out their favorite flavors, and the adults enjoyed some much-needed caffeine.
Alpine Slide at Park City Olympic Park
The thrill of the Alpine Slide at Park City Olympic Park was another highlight. Riding the chair lift to the top provided stunning views, and the slide itself was an exhilarating ride down the mountain. It was a perfect activity for both the adventurous and the cautious members of our family.
Hansen Family Photos at McPolin Barn
As a photographer, one of my favorite moments was our family photo session at the historic McPolin Barn. The white barn, adorned with a huge American flag, provided a beautiful backdrop for our photos. Capturing the joy and connection of our family in such a picturesque setting was truly special.
Annual “Go Fish” Game
Our family tradition of playing “Go Fish” continued this year, much to the delight of the younger cousins. This simple card game has a way of bringing everyone together, and it’s always a joy to see the kids strategizing and laughing.
Hot Tub at the Cabin
The hot tub at our cabin was a hit with everyone. After long days of exploring and activities, soaking in the warm water was the perfect way to unwind. The kids loved it just as much as the adults, making it a central spot for relaxation and conversation.
Games with Cousins
Spending quality time with cousins is always a highlight of our trips. This year, we played a variety of games, from board games to outdoor sports. The camaraderie and fun shared between the cousins are what make these trips so memorable.
Missing Grandma and Grandpa
While we had an incredible time, there was a noticeable absence. Grandpa was sick and in the hospital, and Grandma stayed by his side. Grandma had planned the trip and managed to come down for one night, which was a comforting presence, but we all deeply missed having them both with us. Their absence was felt, and we kept them in our thoughts throughout the trip.
Despite the absence of Grandma and Grandpa, this year’s Hansen family trip to Park City was filled with wonderful moments and new adventures. We cherished the time spent together, the laughter shared, and the memories made. Until next year, we’ll hold these moments close and look forward to our next family “camping” adventure.
Stay tuned for more family adventures and photography sessions. Don’t forget to cherish these moments with your loved ones!
