The Tuesday Ten | Scarlet’s Shoppe

Today’s Tuesday Ten Post is another Guest Blogger Named Jessica. Jessica is a local business owner of Scarlet’s Shoppe on Etsy. She makes all sorts of adorable girls clothing and accessories. I have some beautiful headbands from her for newborn sessions and little girls I can’t wait to use.

I’m Jessica, a stay at home mom to
my almost 2 year old daughter and brand new baby boy. I am the owner of
Scarlet’s Shoppe, an Etsy store that I opened about a year and a half ago where
I sell accessories for girls of all ages! …But especially little girls :).
I feel so blessed with the success
that I’ve had with this small business; it’s been the perfect thing to allow me
to stay at home with my kids but have something to do for myself as well.
I’m excited that Stacey invited me
to be a guest on her blog and I’m going to share some of my favorite pieces
that I’ve made …although I don’t know how I’m going to narrow it down to 10!

1.  I don’t know if it’s just
me but I feel like I can’t get enough gold! I absolutely love that it’s so bold
but it basically goes with anything at the same time. And put it on
babies…seriously so cute!!
These are Barefoot Baby Sandals and
are what my store originated around in the first place. I started by making
some for my daughter for her first summer and they were so adorable and
practical! I could never get sock or shoes to stay on her at that age but with
these strapped around her ankle and foot she was able to have a cute accessory
that I didn’t have to pick up and put back on a hundred times a day. Since I
myself was so excited about them and because I had never seen them around for
sale anywhere locally, I got idea that maybe I could sell them and that is
where the idea of Scarlet’s Shoppe was born.

2.  I chose these as one of my top picks because
they are just so precious on newborn babies! Every little princess needs a
little Tiara Headband to wear for special occasions and I love being able to
make them for sweet little girls.

3. These Elastic Headbands are newer
in my shop so I can’t say they have been top sellers yet, but I have high hopes
for them! Mostly because I can’t get over how cute the printed elastics matched
with the glitters are! They are a new addition to my shop and I have been
having a lot of fun mixing and matching different sets together.
These are so nice for women or girls
of any age to be able to pull their hair back with. They are great for cleaning
and exercise but are cute enough to coordinate and wear as part of your outfit
too! They all come with a loop around the seam which serves two purposes.
1.
It gives it more finished look so
that you can wear them as is.
2.
You can easily clip on a flower or
bow which makes them perfect and practical for babies and toddlers too!

4. I chose to highlight this
headband and barefoot sandal set as one of my favorites because it was such a
big seller leading up to the 4th of July. It actually caught me off guard how
popular it was and the demand for them. Up until that point, I’d never had one
single product in my shop that had been so popular.
When I create accessories I never know beforehand if people will like them or
if they will sell at all. So when something I do make turns out to be such a
hit I can’t help but feel a little proud and excited about it!

5. Scarlet’s Shoppe has been
evolving non-stop since it opened as far as the products I create and carry. In
the last few months I’ve put a lot of emphasis on carrying different types of
flowers in order to create a variety of pieces. This style of puff flowers are
newer to my shop and I haven’t been able to get enough of them! They are so
simple really, they don’t need other embellishments to go along with them, they
just stand alone as a great accessory and are so fun for dolling up a little
girls outfit.

6. The Nagorie feather headbands are
some of my fancier pieces that I have had so much fun designing. They are so
pretty and perfect as part of a photo shoot or any special occasion.
The New Year’s headband in
particular sold out really fast which from a shop owner’s perspective is great
but I better plan ahead and have more available next year!

7. I have one fabulous customer that
involved me last year in her effort to dress her daughter up to meet each
different Disney Princess at Disney World. You can view her blog here: http://aprincessdestiny.blogspot.com/2014/07/if-you-had-chance-to-change-your-fate.html
I started by designing a few
different princess headbands for her and from there was able to branch out and
design more ‘Princess related accessories’ – mainly headbands, shoe clips and
hair clips – that have been so fun for my customers to use with Halloween
costumes, themed birthday parties, fun dress up outfits and gifts for princess
lovers.

 8. I think it’s safe to say that the
headbands I have made specifically for my own daughter have no doubt been some
of my favorites. This one I designed for her first birthday party and it came
together so well with her birthday outfit!
It will always be one of my top choices for fun occasions!

9. Bows, Bows, Bows! I can’t get
enough of the bows. They are a personal favorite for me to use in my own
daughters hair and work so great as both headbands and clips! Here are a few of
my favorite styles of bows that I carry.

10. These Elastic
Hair Ties are a new fun way to pull your hair back.   Wear
these around your wrist as a bracelet until you need them for your hair. They
do not cut off circulation around the wrist like normal hair ties often do.
These are soft and will not pull your hair. You can choose one color to wear or
combine many colors or patterns! All of mine are heat treated to prevent
fraying.
With many printed elastics and colors to use, I customize these to whatever
colors or themes my customers want. I have had fun making these as stocking
stuffers and gifts and I’ve also had the chance to make a few bulk orders for party
favors or in school colors for sports teams, clubs, etc.
