A Sweet Newborn Mini Session | Utah Newborn Photographer
There is something incredibly special about photographing a brand-new baby. Those tiny fingers, sweet little toes, sleepy expressions, and all the details that change so quickly are exactly why I love being a Utah newborn photographer. Every newborn session tells a different story, and this sweet little guy’s session was one I won’t soon forget!
He arrived at my Cache Valley photography studio while he was still needing a little extra oxygen support, but that certainly didn’t stop us from capturing some absolutely adorable newborn portraits. With a little extra care, patience, and flexibility, we were able to create a beautiful gallery filled with sweet memories for his family.
And let me tell you, this little man was such a good baby that we even squeezed in an extra setup!
Three Adorable Setups During One Newborn Mini Session
My newborn mini sessions typically include two posed setups, making them a wonderful option for families who want beautiful, professional newborn portraits without committing to a full session.
However, this little guy was doing so well that we managed to capture three different setups!
We started with a cozy, neutral setup featuring a beautiful wicker chair, soft cream textures, and a warm brown wrap. I absolutely love the simplicity of these images. The natural tones keep the focus on the baby, while the soft textures create that timeless newborn photography look.
Of course, we couldn’t forget the tiny details! Those sweet little feet deserved their own close-up photographs. These are the details parents never want to forget, especially because babies grow and change so quickly.
Next, we switched things up with gorgeous blue tones and an adorable little teddy bear. Snuggled into a rustic wooden bowl surrounded by cozy textures, he looked so peaceful! The combination of blue, brown, and natural wood created such a sweet look for this baby boy.
Finally, we finished with one of my favorite newborn props: the crescent moon! Wrapped in blue and surrounded by fluffy white textures against a dreamy cloud backdrop, he looked like he was sleeping on the moon.

Every Baby Deserves Beautiful Newborn Photos
One thing I want families to know is that every newborn session is a little different, and that’s perfectly okay.
This sweet baby needed oxygen support during his session, and we simply worked around his needs. His comfort and well-being were always the priority, and his oxygen tubing remained part of his portraits.
As a newborn photographer in Northern Utah, I understand that not every baby’s first few weeks look exactly as parents imagined. Some babies need extra support, some arrive earlier than expected, and others need a little more time before they’re ready for photographs.
That doesn’t mean those precious newborn memories aren’t worth capturing.
I always want families to feel comfortable communicating their baby’s needs before a session so we can discuss what accommodations may be appropriate. Sessions are paced around the baby, with breaks and adjustments whenever necessary.
These photographs are such a beautiful reminder that the little details of your baby’s beginning are part of their story, too.
Newborn Mini Sessions in Cache Valley, Utah

My newborn mini sessions are a great option for parents who want a smaller collection of beautiful newborn portraits. Each mini session includes:
- Two posed newborn setups
- 20+ professionally edited digital images
- A downloadable online gallery
- A print release
Mini newborn sessions are $195 plus tax.
For families wanting additional variety, my full newborn sessions include four posed setups and 40+ edited digital images for $275 plus tax. Parent and sibling portraits can also be added to full newborn sessions for an additional $75.
Although I typically recommend scheduling newborn portraits when babies are approximately 4–14 days old, I know every baby and every birth experience is different. I’m happy to discuss scheduling options for babies who need additional time before their session.

Studio newborn sessions are some of our absolute favorites at Stacey Hansen Photography! As a Cache Valley newborn photographer, we love working with families to capture those first sweet days.
Our studio, located in Logan, Utah, (Technically in River Heights, Utah) is calm, cozy, and perfect for newborn photography. It’s fully equipped with controlled lighting, beautiful props, clean backdrops, and a warm, soothing atmosphere. Because we manage every detail, we’re able to create timeless images with soft tones and beautiful setups.
Additionally, working with an experienced Utah newborn photographer means your session is always personalized. You’ll have access to a wide variety of props, wraps, backdrops, and curated setups. While many clients come to our Logan Utah studio, we also offer in-home lifestyle sessions. However, in-home sessions include a travel fee and fewer props—but they provide a relaxed, natural feel. If you prefer the full prop selection, studio sessions are the way to go.
