A Little Adventure Begins | Logan Utah Newborn Photographer
Every great adventure begins somewhere, and for sweet baby Wesley, his story is just getting started! As a Logan Utah newborn photographer, I absolutely love creating newborn portraits that celebrate these precious first days while incorporating fun, creative setups that make each gallery unique.
Wesley’s newborn session was filled with cozy textures, earthy colors, woodland details, and some of the cutest little props. From a miniature campsite to a tiny rustic bed, this handsome little guy gave us so many adorable photographs!
And can we talk about that sweet little face? Those sleepy expressions, tiny toes, and perfectly curled-up poses are exactly why newborn photography will always have my heart.
A Woodland-Inspired Newborn Photography Session
One of my favorite things about this session was the woodland and outdoor adventure theme. We used a beautiful combination of deep blues, warm browns, soft greens, and neutral tones to create a collection of photographs that feels both cozy and timeless.
We started with an adorable camping setup featuring a miniature canvas tent, a little campfire, a tree, and a starry night backdrop.
Wesley looked so peaceful snuggled beneath his tiny tent! The plaid bedding and rustic details made the scene even sweeter. I love creating these miniature worlds for newborn photography because they add personality and a little bit of magic to the finished gallery.
Next, we moved to a cozy wooden bowl surrounded by chunky cream blankets and natural textures. Wrapped in a soft tan fabric and wearing the cutest blue sleepy hat, Wesley looked absolutely precious.
Of course, we made sure to capture some close-up images of his little face, hands, and feet, too. These tiny details change so quickly, and they’re often the photographs parents treasure most as their babies grow.
Rustic Newborn Photos with the Sweetest Little Details
Another favorite setup featured Wesley resting on a miniature wooden bed against our woodland night-sky backdrop.
We used a soft olive-green wrap, a rustic bed, and the most adorable little bear bonnet. Then we added a matching tiny stuffed bear, which made the entire setup even cuter!
I love how the natural colors complement one another without distracting from the baby. The result is a collection of sweet, peaceful portraits that will look beautiful displayed in a nursery or throughout the family home.
We also photographed Wesley in a rustic wooden bucket with a neutral tree-patterned background. The soft brown textures and cozy blanket created another timeless look that fit perfectly with the rest of his gallery.
Each setup had its own personality, yet all the photographs worked together beautifully.
Personalized Newborn Photos for Baby Wesley
One of the sweetest details from this newborn session was Wesley’s personalized blue sweater.
There is something extra special about including a baby’s name in their newborn photographs. Whether it’s a custom outfit, a special blanket, or a meaningful family item, personalized touches can make a gallery feel even more memorable.
Wesley looked absolutely adorable in his little sweater, and I love that his family now has these photographs to remember just how tiny he was when he first wore it.

Why Newborn Photography Is Worth Scheduling Early
Those first few weeks with a newborn are such a blur. Between sleepless nights, endless snuggles, and adjusting to life with a new baby, the days can seem to fly by.
That’s one of the reasons I love newborn photography so much.
Professional newborn portraits allow families to remember all those tiny details long after their baby has outgrown the newborn stage.
I typically recommend scheduling newborn sessions when babies are between 4 and 14 days old. During this time, many babies are especially sleepy and comfortable with those cozy, curled-up poses.
However, every baby is different! If your little one arrives early, needs extra time at home, or is already a few weeks old, we can discuss the best options for your session.
I encourage expecting parents to reach out during pregnancy so we can reserve availability around their due date. Once baby arrives, we’ll finalize the actual session date.

Full Newborn Session — $275
Perfect for families who want more variety! Full sessions include four posed setups and 40+ professionally edited digital images. Parent and sibling portraits can also be added for $75.
Mini Newborn Session — $195
A wonderful option for families wanting a smaller collection of beautiful newborn photographs. Mini sessions include two posed setups and 20+ professionally edited digital images.
Both packages include a downloadable online gallery and print release. A $35 retainer is required to reserve your session, and prices do not include tax.

Studio newborn sessions are some of our absolute favorites at Stacey Hansen Photography! As a Cache Valley newborn photographer, we love working with families to capture those first sweet days.
Our studio, located in Logan, Utah, (Technically in River Heights, Utah) is calm, cozy, and perfect for newborn photography. It’s fully equipped with controlled lighting, beautiful props, clean backdrops, and a warm, soothing atmosphere. Because we manage every detail, we’re able to create timeless images with soft tones and beautiful setups.
Additionally, working with an experienced Utah newborn photographer means your session is always personalized. You’ll have access to a wide variety of props, wraps, backdrops, and curated setups. While many clients come to our Logan Utah studio, we also offer in-home lifestyle sessions. However, in-home sessions include a travel fee and fewer props—but they provide a relaxed, natural feel. If you prefer the full prop selection, studio sessions are the way to go.
