Karson is FIVE! 🎉
How in the world is our baby FIVE?!
Karson turned five in April, and looking back through photos from this past year made me realize just how much we packed into one little year. There were vacations, sports, preschool adventures, holidays, family time, and plenty of everyday moments that I never want to forget.
One of the biggest highlights was taking Karson to Disneyland for his 5th birthday! 🎢✨ Taking each of our kids to Disneyland when they turn five has become such a special tradition for our family, and this year it was finally Karson’s turn. We surprised him with the trip, and it was so much fun experiencing Disney through his eyes.

But Disneyland was definitely not the only adventure this kid had this year!
A Few Highlights from Karson’s Year 💙
- ⚽ Soccer — definitely his favorite of the sports he tried this year!
- 🏈 Flag football — we gave it a shot…and by “gave it a shot,” I mean he went twice. 😂 Definitely NOT his thing!
- 🎢 Disneyland, LEGOLAND & SeaWorld
- 🌵 Trips to Las Vegas and Moab
- 🏖️ Bear Lake adventures
- 🎒 Lots of preschool fun
- 🎡 Summer fair memories
- 💙 Plenty of adventures with his brother Kip
- 🏊 Swimming whenever he gets the chance. He LOVES the water…although apparently loving the water and loving swim lessons are two very different things. 😂
- 🚙 Riding in the buggy with Dad and “driving” the Jeep, RZR, or basically anything else with wheels
- 💜 Relay for Life

Karson at Five
Karson is adventurous, funny, sweet, and always ready to go somewhere or do something fun. He loves anything involving water, wheels, Nerf guns, or ice cream—and bonus points if Dad or Kip are involved.
He’s also still very much Mom’s little buddy, which I’m holding onto for as long as he’ll let me. ❤️ But he loves doing aventures with dad so it’s a good mix.
He is actually a pretty dang good sleeper…but every once in a while he decides that sometime in the middle of the night is the perfect time to sneak into Mom and Dad’s room. And as much as I know he needs to stay in his own bed, I also know these little-kid years aren’t going to last forever.
Five feels like such a big milestone. He’s becoming more independent, developing his own opinions (LOTS of opinions 😂), figuring out what he loves—and very clearly letting us know what he doesn’t—and turning into such a fun little person.
We packed a lot of memories into this year, but some of my favorites aren’t necessarily the big trips or adventures. They’re watching him play with Kip, riding around with Dad, snuggling with Mom, laughing over something silly, or watching his excitement over the simplest things.
We sure love this kiddo.
