Knox Cake Smash | Logan Utah Photographer

I have been looking forward to this Cake Smash for a month or more! Mom is a great friend of mine and I was so excited for Knox to turn one! His cake smash is seriously one of my favorites, like ever!

I was so thrilled to capture their Newborn Session last January and even more excited to do his Cake Smash! Mom sent me a bunch of ideas and then settled on this one. A lumber jack theme. To die for, right? I think everything came together perfectly! Mom brought some of the trees, made the adorable banner, brought the logs, the lantern and the log cake stand. My amazing cake lady, Whitney Goodin, made this perfect log cake. It was seriously the icing on top of the entire session! I had a tree, and some of the other accessories so it all came together great!

Knox started out a little shy of the cake. He was not sure what to do with it. However, he quickly decided he could bend over and lick it. OH MY! We loved that. And he continued to do it a lot. He wasn’t too sure about putting his hands in the cake or frosting but he sure loved to lick the frosting! Cake smashes are always unique because kids can either love it, hate it or be seriously anywhere in between! Knox was a good mix of the love/hate relationship with these one year sessions. He didn’t dig into the cake quite like we were expecting but at least he managed to get a little dirty. He turns one this week and I’m so happy to have captured this for Kristina and Andrew.

Thanks again Johnson Family! He sure is a handsome hunk!
